Built in 2002 at HDW shipyard in Kiel, Germany, ÎLE ROUGE is a Superfast-class RoPax vessel owned by Stena RoRo. Originally delivered as SUPERFAST X, the vessel was most recently operated by Corsica Linea as A NEPITA.
In 2026, the vessel underwent an extensive six-and-a-half-month conversion and overhaul in Perama, Greece, in preparation for a five-year bareboat charter to Canadian ferry operator Marine Atlantic. The conversion included upgrades to passenger accommodation and modifications to the bow and stern ramp arrangements to ensure compatibility with Marine Atlantic’s port infrastructure.
Following completion of the conversion, ÎLE ROUGE departed Greece on 19 August 2026. The vessel was subsequently delivered to Canada by Stena Rederi as part of Stena RoRo’s turnkey delivery package.
